Since I launched Stirlist.com, I’ve had an overwhelming amount of support. Thank you!!! I’ve also received A LOT of questions, which is awesome! Here are some of the most popular questions I’ve received:
Where do your recipes come from? Family, friends, fans and any other source of inspiration I find. Most of my recipes have been based on taking foods that I grew up with and making them healthier.
Do you have culinary training? I do not have a degree in culinary arts, but I took several culinary classes alongside chefs while studying dietetics in college.
Do you take your own photos? yes, Yes, YES! I do not purchase stock photography for Stirlist.
What kind of camera do you use? I use a Nikon D7100.
Is a Registered Dietitian different than a Nutritionist? Yes. Every Registered Dietitian is a Nutritionist, but not every Nutritionist is a Registered Dietitian. The difference is that Registered Dietitians are licensed and have actually completed a four year degree in nutrition along with a supervised 1 year dietetic internship. Many RDs also have advanced degrees and specific training in medical nutrition therapy. This is a really important difference as credentials mean credibility!
What kind of diet do you follow? I am a huge fan of the DASH diet. It’s stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. Even if you don’t have high blood pressure, it’s a great diet to follow as it includes fruits, veggies, whole grains, low fat dairy, and lean meats all in moderation. I do not believe in dieting, but the DASH diet is more of an approach to healthy eating. This is why you will see many of my recipes are tagged with #DASHdiet, because I believe eating the DASH way can really improve your health.

These are just a few of the many questions I have received. I’ll be posting more as I receive them. Thanks so much!
